About the Author
Martin Brunke spent ten years in business, then coached major college football at Stanford, where preparation was one important contributor to performance alongside talent, coaching, and execution. He later spent more than twenty years leading enterprise transformation across organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies.
His head coach at Stanford told him that an effective head coach should understand the responsibilities and situational preparation of players across both sides of the ball. Brunke carried that lesson into business, deliberately taking roles across software development, product, quality assurance, data, operations, project management, and strategy. The experience gave him a cross-functional perspective on how different functions encounter the Mobilization Tax and helped him see the preparation gap as a system-level issue.
The observation that emerged from thirty years at the intersection of elite athletics and enterprise leadership became the proposition this book calls Enterprise Readiness, and Readiness OS, the platform that operationalizes it. The Ready Enterprise is the intellectual foundation of both.
Brunke is the Founder and CEO of VaughnMartin. VaughnMartin is named for his father Vaughn, whose example of building something that lasts shaped everything that followed.
